LR Rockets were formed in 2005 as a three piece with LP, LeBomb, and our old drummer, the unstoppable Jablam!
For several months we went under another name, a name that is secret and will be carried with us to the grave.
The initial sound of the band was pure garage rock, but already there were hints towards our current sound, with
LP and LeBomb's dual vocals and our refusal to rely on lazy chords setting the standard from early on.
Originally we were just two guitars and a drummer, but it soon became apparent that in order to create the intense
sound we were looking for, a bass player was needed. We scoured the lonely musicians columns and found Judge,
who had previously been in a long standing band in Harlow, auditioned him and hired him. On Judge's first audition he
asked the entire band if he could crash at their house, we all said no and he spent the night sitting on the street
waiting for the trains to start. In early 2007 Jablam decided to leave the band to pursue a family and we poached Face
from a band we had meant to play with at The Dublin Castle. Again we auditioned Face, were blown away and hired him on
the spot. With Judge and Face now in the band and forming a formidable rhythm section, we began to add faster,
dancier aspects to our song writing, ditching the straight up garage with balls of chromium for a quicksilver
punk-rock-electro agenda. The final addition to the band was Syms who joined in 2009. We had experimented with adding
keys in many of our recordings and decided it was time to commit to a fifth member on keyboards to take our sound that
step further, augmenting our heavy but danceable style with his out of this world synthesised riffs.
